Description
The SDS Diamond Burr TF Series features a precision-tapered working head with a flat cutting terminal end, uniformly coated with high-grade diamond particles. This classic taper flat-end profile is purpose-built for high-speed air rotor handpieces and is one of the most widely used bur geometries in restorative and prosthetic dentistry. The TF Series delivers controlled, efficient reduction with a defined flat terminal surface that creates clean, measurable shoulder and butt-joint margins.
Key Features
• Tapered body with flat end for accurate axial reduction and well-defined shoulder or chamfer margins • Available in 5 grits: Super Coarse (Black, 180-212 um), Coarse (Green, 125-150 um), Standard (Blue, 106-125 um), Fine (Red, 53-63 um), Extra Fine (Yellow, 20-30 um) • FG shank compatible with all standard high-speed air rotor handpieces • Uniform diamond grit distribution across the full tapered surface and flat end • Available in regular and short-shank (S) variants for restricted posterior access
Other Features
• Suitable for ceramic crown preparation, facial reduction, and shoulder margin definition • Fine and Extra Fine grits ideal for finishing ceramic crown margins and surface polishing • Multi-step grit progression enables smooth transition from bulk reduction to fine finishing • Suitable for enamel, dentine, ceramic, and composite reduction
Directions of Use
1. Select grit: Black (SC) or Green (C) for bulk enamel and dentine removal; Blue (S) for general crown preparation; Red (F) for finishing; Yellow (EF) for ultra-fine margin refinement. 2. Seat the FG shank in the high-speed air rotor handpiece. Operate at 150,000-300,000 RPM with continuous water coolant. 3. Use light, intermittent strokes and avoid sustained pressure against the tooth surface. 4. For facial and axial reduction, use the lateral aspect of the taper; use the flat tip for shoulder margin definition. 5. Maintain consistent angulation to produce a uniform taper on all axial walls. 6. Autoclave after use. Discard when cutting efficiency or flat-end sharpness is visibly reduced.
