1. Prepare the defect site per standard GBR or socket preservation surgical protocol. 2. Open the OssNova vial. If desired, lightly moisten granules with sterile saline to enhance handling (the hydrophilic surface rapidly absorbs fluid). 3. Using a bone condenser or spoon excavator, pack OssNova granules into the defect, filling the full volume of the bony defect. 4. Gently condense to ensure contact with all bony walls of the defect. 5. Cover with a suitable membrane (resorbable or non-resorbable) as required by the clinical indication. 6. Secure the flap with primary wound closure using interrupted or mattress sutures. 7. Follow standard post-operative GBR protocol. Review and suture removal at 7–10 days.
