About this product
EDTA gel in syringe form designed for effective canal lubrication and smear layer removal during instrumentation. Enhances file movement while reducing friction and instrument stress. Improves cleaning efficiency and canal preparation, ensuring smoother, safer, and more controlled endodontic procedures.
Description
Appa Gel is a 17% EDTA gel with Carbamide Peroxide designed for optimal lubrication and chelation during root canal treatments. This specialized gel aids in effective chelation, lubrication, and cleaning of root canals, ensuring smooth instrumentation and debris removal. The combination of EDTA and Carbamide Peroxide facilitates the removal of inorganic substances, smear layer, and pulp tissue, making it an essential tool for successful endodontic procedures.
Key Features
Chelating Action with EDTA: Contains 17% EDTA, which binds to calcium ions and chelates them, helping to remove inorganic substances from the root canal. This ensures better cleaning and preparation by removing calcium-based debris. Effervescent Cleaning with Carbamide Peroxide: 10% Carbamide Peroxide in the formulation releases oxygen when combined with sodium hypochlorite, creating an effervescent effect. This reaction helps in the removal of vital and necrotic pulp tissue, debris, and dentinal flakes, providing a thorough cleaning. Lubrication for Smooth Instrumentation: The water-soluble base of Appa Gel provides excellent lubrication, making it easier to handle endodontic files. It minimizes the risk of file binding, thus reducing the chance of instrument fracture during the chemo-mechanical shaping of canals. Smear Layer Removal: Effectively removes the smear layer created during instrumentation, allowing better contact between the disinfectant and the canal walls for improved cleaning and shaping. Synergistic with Sodium Hypochlorite: Works in synergy with sodium hypochlorite, enhancing its cleaning efficacy by promoting better tissue and debris removal due to the effervescent reaction.
Directions for Use
Preparation: Isolate the tooth using a preferred separation technique, then proceed with access opening and identification of the canals. Application: Attach the unit dose dispenser to the Appa Gel syringe and ensure a snug fit to prevent leakage. Firmly hold the syringe in your palm for controlled delivery. Canal Shaping: Apply Appa Gel into the canal opening using the unit dose dispenser. Gently negotiate the canal with endodontic files, replenishing the gel between each file. Cleaning: After canal shaping is complete, flush out the Appa Gel with sodium hypochlorite and distilled water. Final Preparation: Complete the bio-mechanical preparation using a disinfectant of choice, then dry the canal and proceed with obturation.
Storage and Precautions
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place between 5°C to 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Do not freeze. Precautions: Always wear protective gear (gloves, clothing, eye, and face protection). If the gel comes in contact with the skin or eyes, wash immediately with water. For prolonged irritation, seek medical attention. Use a unit dose dispenser for one patient to avoid cross-contamination, and never aspirate the syringe back. Always recap the syringe after use.
