Appointments & Online Booking
The appointment book is the heartbeat of a dental clinic. AmritSmile gives every doctor and chair its own live calendar, sends patient reminders automatically, and lets patients book themselves online without a single phone call — all synced to the same schedule the front desk sees.
Booking an appointment
From the Appointments screen, the front desk picks a patient (or creates one on the fly for a walk-in), chooses a doctor, treatment, date and time slot, and confirms — the slot is blocked on that doctor's calendar immediately. Two doctors never collide: each has their own live calendar, and the front desk sees every doctor's day in a combined view when booking across the practice.
Per-doctor working hours, lunch breaks, weekly offs and holiday blocks are configured once by the Admin — slots outside those hours are simply never offered, so nothing gets booked into a doctor's day off by mistake.
The appointment lifecycle
Every appointment moves through a clear, colour-coded status on the calendar:
A cancellation instantly frees the slot and can notify the next waitlisted patient, so a last-minute gap doesn't have to sit empty.
Automatic reminders
AmritSmile sends automatic SMS and WhatsApp reminders the evening before an appointment and again roughly an hour before it — no manual calling, and no-shows quietly drop as a result. See WhatsApp Reminders & Marketing for how the messaging itself works.
Online self-booking
Every clinic gets a branded public booking page showing real availability pulled straight from the in-clinic calendar — not a stale, separately-managed slot list. Patients share the link (from WhatsApp, a Google Business profile or the clinic's own website), pick a doctor, treatment, date and time, and the booking lands directly on the front-desk calendar — either auto-confirmed or as "Pending" for staff review, whichever the clinic prefers.
The Admin controls exactly which treatments are bookable online (cleanings and consultations, for instance, while keeping surgical procedures off the public page), sets a minimum notice period to avoid last-minute rushes, and the page itself carries the clinic's own logo, name and address — not a generic third-party widget.
