Inventory & Dental Lab Orders
Two things a clinic can't afford to lose track of: what's on the shelf, and what's currently sitting at the lab. AmritSmile tracks both against the patient and treatment they belong to, not as a separate spreadsheet someone updates when they remember to.
Inventory
Consumables, medications, instruments, PPE, sterilisation supplies and equipment all live in one catalogue, organised by category. Every item carries a configurable reorder level — fall at or below it, and the item is automatically flagged as low stock, so a clinic finds out before a glove box or anaesthetic runs out mid-procedure, not during it.
Every movement — stock received, stock used, an adjustment, waste, expiry disposal or a return to a supplier — is logged with a timestamp, and purchase orders track procurement through Draft → Placed → Confirmed → Partially Received → Received, so there's full visibility from "we're low on this" to "it's back on the shelf." Each clinic branch manages its own stock independently from the same login.
Dental lab orders
When a case goes to an external lab — a crown, bridge, denture, veneer or implant — a work order is created against the patient and treatment, naming the lab, the work type, material, shade, tooth number and expected delivery date. From there it's tracked through a clear pipeline:
A rework gets its own status rather than silently disappearing back to the lab, so a case is never "lost" between the chair and the workbench. Work types cover crowns, bridges, dentures, implant crowns/bridges, veneers, inlays/onlays, night guards, bleaching trays, retainers and orthodontic appliances, in materials from zirconia and PFM through to lithium disilicate and PEEK — and every lab the clinic works with keeps its own profile, so an order is always assigned to the right one.
